Leonard E. Seidman has been the President of Seidman Avocats Inc., since its inception in early 2016 after having been a partner of Seal Seidman, G.P. which he joined in 1974. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science in 1969 from the Arts and Science Faculty of McGill University, and his Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the Faculty of Law at McGill University in 1972. He was admitted to the Bar of the Province of Quebec in January 1974 and to the State Bar of California in June 1979 following which he was authorized to practice before the United States District Court in April 1984.
In June 1, 2016, Seidman Avocats Inc., assumed the continuation of the operations of Mr. Seidman’s partnership in Seal Seidman, G.P. which had been established in 1999. Seidman Avocats Inc. has expanded the scope and variety of legal services available through its association with other legal service providers in specialized areas of the law, including intellectual property, privacy and personal information protection compliance, and labour law. In November 2019, Mr. Seidman accepted the invitation of the Pinto Legal law firm to serve as their Senior Counsel.
Mr. Seidman’s career in commercial litigation has permitted him to plead before all the courts in Quebec, the Federal Court of Canada, and, on three successful occasions before the Supreme Court of Canada in the cases landmark cases of:
Soucisse v. National Bank, [1981] 2 RCS 339
In 2004, Mr. Seidman was named a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Costs of the Bar of Montreal, in which he served as Chairman of the sub-committee on financing litigation. In recognition of his services to this committee and his role in the report the Committee published, Mr. Seidman was awarded the Merit of the Bar of Montreal in 2005. For over 45 years, he has been a member of numerous committees of the Bar of Québec, the Bar of Montreal, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Lord Reading Law Society.

Seidman Avocats Inc. a élargi la portée et la variété des services juridiques disponibles grâce à son association avec d'autres fournisseurs de services juridiques dans des domaines spécialisés du droit, y compris la propriété intellectuelle, la conformité à la protection de la vie privée et des renseignements personnels, et le droit du travail. En novembre 2019, Me Seidman a accepté l'invitation du cabinet d'avocats Pinto Legal en tant que avocat conseil.

En 2004, Me Seidman a été nommé membre du comité ad hoc sur les frais du Barreau de Montréal, au sein duquel il a agi à titre de président du sous-comité sur le financement des litiges. En reconnaissance de ses services à ce comité et de son rôle dans le rapport publié par le comité, Me Seidman s'est vu décerner le mérite du Barreau de Montréal en 2005. Depuis plus de 45 ans, il est membre de nombreux comités du Barreau de Québec, le Barreau de Montréal, l'Association du Barreau canadien et la Lord Reading Law Society.
